Pre-Kindergarten – Kermits

Our pre-kindergarten program provides care, early childhood education, and kindergarten readiness for children ages 4 ½ years to 5 ½ years. Each of our experienced teachers will plan and implement activities in their individual areas of expertise, working with the children in small groups to give them more specialized training.

At Play & Learn our pre-kindergartners explore a weekly theme and participate in a hands-on program that encourages physical, social/emotional, and cognitive growth and development while working to prepare children to enter kindergarten. Pre-kindergartners can independently choose from a variety of developmentally appropriate learning centers and are encouraged to work independently as well as in groups. Classroom activities are designed to build socialization, communication, and problem solving skills. Language arts, math, science, sensory art, and reading readiness are all a part of the pre-kindergarten program. Parents are kept informed of their child’s progress with Progress Reports and periodic parent conferences. A daily schedule, weekly lesson plan, and monthly calendar are posted on the Kermits’ parent board.
